About UHS

Upland High School is the only comprehensive high school in the Upland Unified School District. Upland High School earned a 6-year WASC accreditation in 2014. Formerly an agricultural community, Upland is a suburb and commuter community of greater Los Angeles located in western San Bernardino County and today has a population of over 76,443. The high school serves residents within the city limits as well as unincorporated residential areas adjoining the city. The majority of residents are employed in service and professional occupations. Businesses within the city are retail, service, light industry, and professional firms. Upland High School is among the largest high schools along the Foothill Corridor. The school population of 3,261 is 25% Caucasian, 55% Hispanic, 10% African American, 6% Asian and 4% other, with 26.5% overall socio-economically disadvantaged. Currently there are 758 students in the class of 2018. Approximately 89% of the students will enroll in a college, university, or technical program upon graduation. From the class of 2017 out of the 792 seniors, there were 1 National Merit Semi-Finalist, 5 Commended Scholars, and 40 AP Scholars (10 with Distinction and 9 with Honors). Among last year’s graduates were students who enrolled at the Universities of California, California State Universities, Air Force Academy, Biola University, Boise State University, Boston University, Brigham Young University - Idaho, Cal Baptist University, Northern Arizona University, Point Loma Nazarene University, Stanford University, Texas Tech University, University of Hawaii at Manoa, University of La Verne, University of Oregon, University of Pennsylvania, University of Southern California, University of Washington, Wagner College, and Westmont College.
