A THREE-YEAR GOAL: Increase campus safety and security

When - Who - What

By October 1, 2017 - JeNora Lewis and student Ben Iniguez - Develop a plan to monitor the senior parking lot before and after school and present to the Administrative Team for approval.

By November 1, 2017 - Pam Salgado and JeNora Lewis, working with a Safety Committee (Ben Iniquez, Ana Calderon, Ana Garcia and Carlo Landivar) - Develop a plan for campus security from 6:30am to 3:30pm, before, during and after school.

By November 15, 2017 - JeNora Lewis - Review with the Campus Security Officers their responsibilities regarding Upland High School safety and security and hold them accountable for carrying out their responsibilities.

 

A THREE - YEAR GOAL: increase awareness and preparation for postsecondary opportunities

When - Who - What
 

On October 11, 2017 - Rochelle Villalobos, working with the College and Career Day Committee - Implement the College and Career Day for all students.

By May 15, 2018 - Sara Domonoske and Rochelle Villalobos (co-leads), working with Counselors and Department Chairs - Recommend to the Leadership Team for approval the removal of barriers to allow students to access A-G classes as measured by increased enrollment in A-G courses by students who have special needs (e.g., support English Learner students, accommodate all students, evaluate course offerings that lead to A-G completion).

By May 15, 2018 - Art McCain, working with the Counselors - Discuss with students and parents how A-G requirements benefit all post-secondary plans, to increase the Upland High School A-G completion rate.

By November 1, 2017 - Pam Salgado and Darryl Thomas - Develop and distribute printed information about the Academies to be available for incoming parents.

On January 30, 2018 - Danika Hochberger, working with Darryl Thomas - Ensure all incoming freshman students visit all the Academies during Highlander Day.

By February 15, 2018 -Vicki Robertson and Angelique Tahajian, working with the Academy Leads and Darryl Thomas - Plan and execute an assembly to inform students and promote our school Academies.

By May 15, 2018 - Vicki Robertson and Lilliana Portillo - Reinstate Career Day and increase community involvement.

By November 1, 2017 - Scott Sypkens - Determine a process for defining what internal accountability at Upland High School will look like.

By April 1, 2018 - Scott Sypkens (lead), with input from the whole staff - Recommend to the Leadership Team for approval a definition and description of internal accountability at Upland High School.
